Based on a common concern about a digital divide accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic and with a focus on Saint John’s five priority neighbourhoods, Civic Tech Saint John in coordination with five neighbourhood associations is currently working on a solution that will contribute to closing the connectivity divide in those neighbourhoods.
The project aims to extend existing municipal public Wi-Fi and deploy new internet and equipment access capabilities to cover priority neighbourhoods in Saint John.
