About ID4ALL Hackathon

ID4ALL Hackathon is a local challenge designed to foster a space for creativity and innovation by bringing together multidisciplinary creative minds to connect, collaborate, and create solutions that will help local social service providers, better support individuals without identification while contributing to overcoming some systemic barriers for service delivery to them.

Here is an overview of the ID4ALL Hackathon challenge.


Who can participate?

Individuals from the private, public, non-profit sectors, universities, and colleges are invited to participate.

What is the challenge being addressed in this Hackathon?

How could local social service providers create greater awareness of and access to personal government identification, to help individuals overcome systemic barriers to social resources and service delivery?

The objective

To foster a space for creativity and innovation by bringing together multidisciplinary creative minds.  Through collaboration, teams will develop solutions to help social service providers create greater awareness of personal government identification.  This will help individuals acquire and maintain personal ID and assist in overcoming systemic barriers to social resources and service delivery.

The solution

Your solution must be multi-focused to meet this challenge. It will likely involve technology or alternative innovations, creating awareness of the needs and opportunities of personal identification, and an action plan to implement the solution. It is likely the best solution will be an integration of these components.

Eligibility

You are at least 18 years of age.

You are currently living in Saint John, NB

You or at least two members of your team are enrolled in a post-secondary institution, are recent graduates, or are young professionals.

You are willing to commit to the whole process as indicated in the guidelines.

Teams with diverse backgrounds and a combination of skills are encouraged (IT, project management, business analysis, etc.)

Registered participants need to be part of a team (5 members maximum and 4 members minimum).

How to participate

All teams must attend the Launch and Hackathon.

At least 2 members of each team must attend the two Prehack Nights, for their teams to be eligible to win a prize.

Work with your team and assigned mentor to design your solution and pitch it to the judges.

Teams with diverse backgrounds and a combination of skills are encouraged (IT, project management, business analysis, etc.)

All teams must develop a solution as a team, to be presented at the Hackathon in April 27th, 2024 to a panel of judges.

Teams must follow the guidelines and the Code of Conduct.

The Prize

  • Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
